The Veg Cities site will close permanently on 1 January 2025.

Veg Cities is changing but our commitment to healthy food and more veg is not. We started Good Food Local, a new initiative to help local authorities prioritise good food and commit to action on a breadth of food issues including healthy food environments. Join the movement

VEG CITIES | Cambridge

Update from Cambridge Sustainable Food

Veg glorious veg! Cambridge Sustainable Food (CSF) is challenging individuals, families and households to make a Veg Pledge to grow, cook and eat more veg. Businesses, schools and community groups can also get involved by making a pledge of their own.

We are also working to widen access to veg in low-income areas through increasing acceptance of Healthy Start vouchers and exploring ways to bring veg to community centres. We're expanding growing spaces and allotment uptake in the city and getting more people involved in preparing and serving veg as part of Holiday Lunches.

A Cambridge Vegetable Festival is planned for July 2019, which will feature a town meal, vegetable treasure hunt, celebrity chef cookery tour of local allotments and a veggie recipe competition.  Community groups, businesses, organisations and schools are also invited to be involved and host their own events to celebrate the wonder of veg!
